Results from the 2010 Juniata County Fair Art Show

Over 280 entries of artwork and photography grace the new walls of the Juniata County Fair Floral Hall. And excellent display of craftsmanship is shown with numerous ribbon winners named. Remember to stop at the Juniata County Fair from September 4 to September 11 to see all the entries. If you can pick a favorite, make sure to vote for the People’s Choice Award. The winner will be announced later this week and appear on this blog. Good luck and thanks to everyone that entered!

Pictured is 2010 Best of Show Art Winner Joanne Erb with art judge Allison Sangree. Joanne lives in Port Royal and has entered many acrylic paintings at the Juniata County Fair, but this is her first Best of Show placing. Joanne's concentration to detail captured both the likeness of her two dogs and the attention of the art judge.

Photography judge Eric Olson and his wife Nancy pose with the 2010 Best of Show Photograph taken by Denise Boaz of Duncannon. Olson pointed out that he chose this winning image because of the composition, lighting, colors, and how the soft focus areas aid in creating the a mode that helps define the photograph.
